Thanks to the graciousness and generosity of the ever-so beautiful Trickster - I was indeed able to work out last night (She let me use her treadmill). Good lord - how am I EVER going to be able to run a 5k? Seriously, after last night - I'm just not sure that is feasible. sigh. So, I did a 5 minute warm-up walk which was .25 miles, then I started my mile running, walked, some more running, a LOT more walking - etc... I did a whole mile that way and then did a 5 minute cool down which was another .25 miles. So in the end I did 1.5 miles and it took me a total of 25 minutes - yes, that's a 15 minute mile! ROFL - wow. OK, I don't need to focus at all on the time right now - I just want to focus on the running part, which wasn't as much as I had hoped. After last night, I just wonder if I EVER will be able to run even 1 mile, let along 5K. I guess in the end, the important thing here is that I did that much. That's a start. Right? I mean going from nothing to that is good - I think. So, I just need to stay on track and keep doing that. I'll take today off and try it again tomorrow evening. I do feel completely energized today and just a general sense of "i did it" just for doing it. I love that feeling...
Any tips or advice?

You're looking for tips on running a 5k? Here's one, don't overthink it.
Other advice would include running for five minutes, walk for two, run for five minutes more, etc. This will allow you to build up to the 5k. Do you have comfy new running shoes and socks? Socks are often overlooked, but play a huge part in running comfort. Plus buying new things makes you eager to train. Good luck Kelwhy!
thank you egan! Yes, I did go buy some new running shoes and MAN do they ever make a difference. They also talked me into some new socks and I can't believe the difference those make as well. I'm psyched about it we shall see...
I'll give that run/walk/run a try as well - that's kinda what I was doing last night - just not really in any particular order or anything - running til i couldn't then, walking for a bit.
I just need to relax and enjoy!
Way to go Kelwhy!
I'll be on the couch drinking...anything...enjoy

Just pretend you have a full bladder and the bathroom is at the end of a mile... you'll be sprinting! muhahaha!
