Bragging...

I'm so proud of both of my kids! Thursday night they participated in their first run. They did the Autumn Chase and they both did great. It was a 1 mile run and you get a ribbon and a T-shirt for participation, and then 1st through 15th of each race also gets a "special award" as well. So, lil man starts off first - he wasn't able to run the whole way, but he kept at it, walking here and there and finished the race in 10:03! WOW! I can't believe how fast he did it. Then lil girl does her race, and she's just bookin' it - we were cheering her on from the sidelines. She's able to run the entire race and ends up placing 5th with an 8:19 time! Holy COW! I think the kids were most excited about the free ice cream they had for all of the runners after the race! That was pretty cool. So, they had the awards ceremony and lil girl went up on stage to collect her special ribbon for 5th place. I'm just SOOooooo proud of both of them, I can't believe how well they did. They are definitely looking forward to doing another race now, so I'll have to keep looking for races around here. I want them to start running with me so that they can do the 5k with me in October - I bet they can do it. They'd leave me in the dust, that's for sure! anyway, just wanted to share that! gotta get running and going for today! hope you have a great Saturday!
