OK, well then...

First of all - when they tell you that you have to take a 3 hour glucose test, they really mean 4 hours - plus however long it takes you to get back in the first place. AUGH. This was not exactly how I wanted to spend my Saturday morning. [deep sigh] oh well - that parts done with, i check back in with the doc tomorrow to see the results of the test. Here's the test for those of you who haven't had this before...
  1. Fast for 12 hours before the test.
  2. Draw blood to use as a baseline.
  3. Drink 12 oz of something that tastes like flat sunkist pop - within 5 min. Super, sugary, sweet, and not all that easy to get down. Certainly not the worst thing I've ever drank either tho...
  4. 1/2 hour later draw blood.
  5. 1 hour later draw blood.
  6. 1 hour later draw blood.
  7. 1 hour later draw blood for the final time.

I did pretty good until step 6, at that point.... i just couldn't really even speak. I was shaking, hot/cold flashes... not doing great - they finally came out and carried me back to a room where they let me lay down. I felt much better after that point, I laid in there for another 1/2 hour until they came in and drew my final blood and then I was outta there. After finding some food in a vending machine of course. I came home and bundled up in about 3 blankets and slept on the couch for the next 3 hours. Never felt right the rest of the day. Crazy shit. I should get the results of the test tomorrow, I have another doc appt to see. I'll let you know.

In other news - I've resolved again to kick my butt and get in gear some more, maybe all of this is simply because I haven't been active for awhile. I'm joining my running group again (that starts tonight) and I'm watching my diet. I'm going to try to kickstart my weightloss and lose some serious weight in the next 2 weeks. Wish me luck. My goal is to lose at least 15% of my current weight - Not in the next 2 weeks of course - ok, gotta run. Hope y'all have a great Monday! chat with you later...
