Still thinking about Hurricane Katrina and all that's involved with that... but mainly I've been thinking about everything that these people have lost. Hopefully not their lives, although, I know that there is some of that. But the people who did evacuate, how much did they take with them? And how do you choose what to pack? I mean I guess you have limited space and have to make some kind of choice. So that's got me to thinking, if I were in that situation, having some advanced notice and all and had to pack up and get outta Dodge - then what would I take? It's really hard to pick. I've got a pickup, so I could load it up - but it's already going to be loaded with just the basics (clothes, pillows, blankets, meds...). So what else? The first thing that comes to mind for me are all of my photos around the house. I mean those are irreplaceable, I can't just run over to Wal-mart and get new ones like I can if it were my DVD player, say. There are many special things that I have around the house as well - but what would be important enough to grab? I guess all of our important paperwork would be something to remember - birth certificates, marriage license, insurance info, deeds and titles. I'm thinking that I really need to go through my files at home and clean some of this crap up. Put things in there neat and organized so that I know right where to go. In anycase, just got me thinking...
So - how about you? If you had some notice and had to get out - what would you bring? Let me know - I'm curious!!!
