What's the old saying?

If it weren't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all.

Yeah, yeah - I know - it could be worse - much worse...but damn. So, our dishwasher died... no big deal, let's go buy a new one. Well, of course the one we want is out of stock, so OK - we wait. I can hand wash dishes for a while. NO BIG DEAL. Then I go ahead and spend all of my money getting ole' Betty fixed up. (By the way, I've officially named the truck Betty - Tessa just didn't fit after I started using it - she's definitely a Betty.) Sooooo...we go off and go camping on Saturday, meet my father-in-law and all of his extended family who we do not know any of. But - that was all good, it was fun. We get home, I'm washing some dishes and then run to the store. I come home to find hubby up on the roof trying to "snake out" the water pipes. My kitchen sink was all clogged up somewhere. NICE. So - no dishwasher and no kitchen sink. Now it's starting to get funny. All of the good stuff happens to us. So, 3 or so hours later he does get the sink un-clogged (i'm so proud of my handy-man hubby!). Then today, around lunch time I send Alex out to the freezer to get himself and his sister a popsicle - he comes back in whining that they're all melted... WTF???? OH GOD. So we go out and look, sure enough - my freezer - just recently stocked with about 200-300 $$$ worth of meat is open and everything is toast. NICE. The filets, the chicken, the salmon, the lambchops, the pork tenderloin.... oh my god - I just want to cry. Oh well. So there you go... that's my holiday weekend thus far... It's been fun.

Now, it's thunderstorming outside, I'm drinking beeer, my husband is snoring in the living room and my father-in-law is playing with the kids. (this is the 3rd time that he's EVER seen my kids - interesting). Not sure how long he's staying yet - but the kids are enjoying it.

OK then, gotta go get another beer. And did I mention that I'm missing Trick's famous 4th of July holiday bash. I'm NOT happy about that. NOT AT ALL.

Hope everyone else is having an awesome 4th though!!
