Trying to recover from this weekend....yeah - long weekend, I'm supposed to be nice and rested now... NOPE. We worked on our kitchen this whole weekend. Got most all of it done, which is a wonderful feeling, but now, I'm tired. Saturday we ripped up the wallpaper - tearing half of the drywall down with it. It was put straight up on the drywall - they didn't prime it first - NICE. We went over to a friends house warming party Saturday night then, that was fun and relaxing. Sunday, back to work in the kitchen. We plastered all of the walls, sanded , re-plastered, and sanded again, then primed all of the walls. Monday morning we went and bought the paint. We painted a base coat of a real nice buttery yellow. It looks very nice. Then, the plan was to paint a burgundy/wine color glaze over the top - wiping off as we go. Well, we did one wall in that...not so good...it turned into a bright magenta on the walls - ugh! I cannot have a pink kitchen. NO. So we stopped there. Not sure what to do with the walls now...leave them the buttery yellow color? Put another color glaze on top? Just not sure yet...so that was my weekend. How was yours?
