Alex and the baseball

Last night Alex had baseball practice. We hadn't been there for very long, I had just started reading my book (The portrait of Dorian Gray) when I hear this loud thud...uh oh - I look up and all of the coaches take off running to Alex. He had turned to catch the ball - but the sun was right in his eyes and he lost it. It nailed him right in his nose - blood was just ouring out of his nose like someone had turned a faucet on. Oh boy, so they bring him over to the bleachers and sit him down - boy it was hard to get that blood to stop pouring. It just kept on coming. I finally got it slowed down and put some ice on his nose - poor kid- he was just bawling the whole time - "this is why I don't want to play baseball!". So after I get him calmed down and cleaned up some, I just took him home. He's OK, but he does have a mark under his nose from the stitched on the baseball....poor kid...
