UGH...

So, the whole diet thingy...ick. About 1 1/2 years ago...it was brought to my attention that I could stand to lose a few pounds and maybe exercise a bit more. I'm 5'7" tall. At that time, I weighed in at 157 lbs. I wasn't HUGE, by any means, but I wasn't thin and trim either, and I certainly was not dieting or exercising regularly. SO...I immediately went to LA Weightloss center and joined up. They are really wonderful there, and helped me immensely. So I signed on and they started me off. The first part is the 3 day Jetstart diet. The basics are - all the meat you can eat, except pork, any raw green veggie, 2 oranges a day, 2 eggs a day...light salad dressings, butter, oil...that's it I guess. So you do that for 3 days and then start the regular diet. You can have 2 proteins, 3 veggies, 3 fruits, 2 starches, 1 fat and 1 dairy a day. They give you a listing of choices for each of those categories. Anyway, it was a bit expensive - their "scam" is that they say to effectively follow their diet - you MUST use their LA Lites (variety of snacks and snack bars). Those were expensive. But, I did lose 22 lbs in 4 months. I hit 135 lbs - I looked awesome, felt awesome - life was wonderful. Now, 1 1/2 years later - I've gained most of that weight back. I just stopped following all of the habits that I had built! So anyway - I'm trying to do it right this time. Exercise and eat right. Not necessarily a diet - but a life change. First of all, I don't exercise - I just don't. So I do plan on starting that nice and easy, breaking myself in to it. Second, I like the way that I feel when I'm thinner...more energy, more alive. So that is my goal, my plan...my...hopes. Keep your fingers crossed for me and wish me luck. Any helpful tips would be welcome!
