You are the next contestant on the Price is Right! Yeah - well, didn't hear them call my name, but it was still fun. We had a blast out in LaLa land...what a different world! I got to see most everything that I wanted, and boy am I tired! So.... a brief synopsis...
Saturday: Arrived, walked from the hotel to Rodeo Dr. (not a short walk either) .... INCREDIBLE! I couldn't even afford to walk in those stores...WOW. I looked and looked for something to buy there - ANYthing... the cheapest thing that I saw was a pair of sunglasses for $225.00 and I just couldn't do that. I was willing to go up to $100.00...but that was it. Oh well, sigh. So anyway - we went out to Santa Monica Pier that night, ate, drank and was generally merry...
Sunday: Went to downtown LA to the garment district. OH THE SHOPPING!!! Now that is my kind of place to shop. There were tons and tons of little tiny shops, along the streets, in alleys - very nice. I bought a gucci purse, and wallet for $10.00 each and then a pair of Gucci sunglasses for $5.00. I bought Steve a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, Lauren a Dora outfit, Alex a LA tshirt, and then got a pink blazer for me. For dinner that night we ate at Milk and Honey...a Kosher Italian restaurant...interesting. There was a very large jewish poplulation where we were, so there was lots of Kosher restaurants...etc...
Monday: Went to the CBS studios and waited to get in to the Price is Right. That was a really fun show - the weird thing: the studio is TINY! I mean small, small, SMALL! We didn't expect that. So anyway, none of our group got called down and that was kind of disappointing but, ok I guess. We did still have fun. After that we headed to Hollywood and walked up and down the blvd. there. I saw Mann's Chinese theatre, the Kodak theatre...some freaky people, Johnny Carson's star (there was a makeshift memorial going on there), Audrey Hepburn's star (and I totally love her! That was my favorite one!!!), it was a fun night.
Tuesday: Travelled all day long to get back to see my kids and hubby! Woo Hoo!!
So - I'm back safe and sound in Huntsville now. I had a great trip, but now I've been there and seen that - need something new next time!!
